C’mon Doc

Mama hears it
Anytime a record stops
Swears she doesn’t fear it
But I’m waiting for the big drop

I can’t help but watch her
She’s singing in her sleep again
And then she’s on an all nighter
And I’m keeping the car running

C’mon doc, fix her up
You and I both know
We’re not going to make the four-o’clock
No matter how fast we go

C’mon doc, fix her up
I’ll put her pretty little pills in her little plastic cup
And I’ll be better when I’m all grown up

I never know what she means
But I’ve heard it a dozen times
She read it in a magazine
It goes something like,” “The truth rhymes”

C’mon doc, fix her up
You and I both know
We’re not going to make the four-o’clock
No matter how fast we go

C’mon doc, fix her up
I’ll put her pretty little pills in her little plastic cup
And I’ll be better when I’m all grown up

One, two, yellow, blue
You love me, and I love you
On and on, forever and a day
Run away, far from here
Out into the stratosphere
Wouldn’t want it any other way

Three, four, shut the door
I love you, but you love me more
On and on, forever and a day

Spin around, hit the ground
Quicker than the speed of sound
Wouldn’t want it any other way
No, I wouldn’t want it any other way
